Llama large frame 9mm

Need to identify large frame LLama marked 9mm 38.
It's nicely finished and looks like the 1911A1 but lockwork is totally different.
There is no grip safety and the hammer spring housing is integral with the frame. Grips are checkered wood.
The 1911 magazine is a good fit.

    The early Llama's models were identified by Roman Numerals. I believe the one your inquiring about was their Model IV.

    Caliber should be 9mm Largo, aka 9X23. Dimensionally identical and similar in loading to the 38 acp but not to be confused with the 38 super.

    I have one of their true 1911 clones, the "EXTRA" model from 1931. Well made, not like the company's later junk.

    This one's very well made and finished inside and out.
    I guess they wanted to work around patent issues to design their own lockwork.
    The 1911 barrel bushing fits but, while similar, a 1911 barrel is too wide in the lugs to pass into the slide without modification.
    The grip frame accepts the 1911 mag so that model must have also been made in 45ACP.
    It is the IV which with a change in marking becomes the V.
    My question to someone knowledgeable is whether steel was changed between this and subsequent models which were labeled 9mm largo/38 Super.
    There's not much jump between the two while the 9x23 is a different story.
