Taurus .357 Titanium info
Hello - Can anyone tell me why Taurus discontinued this model? I own a 627 Tracker 6.5" and was researching value - but can no longer find any information on this revolver. Thanks.

Taurus is famous for bringing out guns that are kinda neat in the beginning but for whatever reason don't sell as well so they get discontinued. I have a Taurus 606 ported .357 that was only available for a few years. If you look on the auction side there are a bunch of Trackers for sale starting around $400. A titanium model might bring a few dollars more. Taurus only offers a few titanium models anymore--possibly due to lower customer demand since they are more expensive or being so light that recoil turns people off. 0 -
I have been interested in a titanium in 32 mag. Recoil should be OK. I have fired the small stainless Ruger in 357 and it is a handfull. I would not want any lighter 357. 0 -
I have no idea why Taurus discontinued it but I wouldn't sell mine. It shoots better than I can and with the factory ported barrel is very manageable IMO. I've seen them sell on the auction side for $600.00 plus or minus that would not buy mine from me though. 0 -
Thanks for your comments. I honestly love mine. The porting really does work to reduce recoil, though I find the "ribber" grips a bit shifty (?) in my hand. I can off-hand this at 25 yards and keep to a 4" pattern (okay, maybe not great, but...).
The reason I asked was I was considering selling off, purchasing the .44 version and purchasing a marlin lever to pair with it.

fotomatt.....I CC a Taurus Gold Titanium ported in 38+p and love it. Had it for years and has never failed me. Put me with Jeepflexin in that I would not part with mine for love nor money. Light, handy, easy to shoot, and packs a good punch. I got tired of lugging around heavy iron and went to this guy and glad that I did. As to why they stop making them, perhaps the cost? I could have bought cheaper pistols at the time but several of my friends recommended this guy and I followed their lead. Glad I did. Good shooting! 0
