Browning 9mm auto question.

Have a buddy looking for a browning 9mm auto that has a screw on the side to change it from pistol to revolver mode. Anyone know what model that is?

    WOW I am confused How do you change a semi auto to a revolver with out having a cylinder. [?] I can see going to Double action only mode where The hammer does not recock when the slide cycles but looking at the picture does not give my pea brain enough information. Could someone please enlighten me Thanks Karl.

    EDIT Thanks I guess the term REVOLVER on the first post "THE QUESTION " was what threw me for a look I do under stand the SA/DA vs DAO mode. That is my big hang up with most double action pistols first shot long hard pull then second shot almost goes off without trying . when I shoot my 1911 Bulls-eye guns in rapid fire matches I take up the slack and at least 50% of trigger pull during recoil . Never been able to shot a double action pistol . I chose the H&K P7 M8 for a carry piece single action trigger all the time and not made of plastic Thanks again for clearing this up. Karl

    Karl, the screw changes it from da/sa to da only. The one I had was a very good shooter. Slim grip like a HP and high cap mags.

    It is actually "pistol" mode and "revolver" mode. In revolver mode the trigger and hammer operate the same as a double action revolver. It is different from most DAO pistols in that one may thumb cock the hammer and fire a round single action just as you can with exposed hammer revolvers. The one small complaint I have with them is that the safety is backwards from most pistols; up is FIRE and down engages the SAFETY.

    There are a couple on the auction side now, search BDM. These were only produced for a short time due to coming out right before the AWB and there were a small supply of 15 round magazines for them. Most people preferred guns with more readily available mags so demand was small. Prices are very reasonable, and with patience can be found cheap.
