evening gents...just came across a DW 357 6 shot blue 6" adj rear plastic insert front change bbl revolver with smooth wood 3 finger grip....has one tiny ding on right side bbl rib & 5 tiny marks just above trigger left side...shiny blue with a very, very faint cylinder line...shot only a few times i was told... serial #1777xx...asking what model # this is and best info on value...just a little big for me so i will sell or trade for something interesting...my DW info is limited...many thanks

You probably have the model 15. As far as value a pristine gun could sell in the ball park of $500 or more. It is kind of difficult to be more specific with out pictures of your particular gun. Check on Dan Wesson's here on GB and see what there going for on the auction side. There are always a few for sale here and usually they all sell.
They are a fairly desirable gun and are generally very accurate.
I've had quite a few of them over the years and I was a Dan Wesson dealer until the late 1990's.0 -
I forgot to mention that there are still quite a few different grips available for your gun if you feel the grips are to large. Pachmayr makes 2 different size rubber grips for your model and if you feel yours are to big they do make smaller ones. The grips that you have on your particular gun are the combat style grips. These grips were an optional grip and not the standard one. If it were me I'd keep it as a shooter you won't be disappointed. 0 -

Shouldn't make much of a difference but the heavy vent or just the vent rib would be more desirable. I'd still probably keep it but if your looking at some thing you want more than sell it right here on GB there getting good prices for them. I don't think I'd take it to a dealer and trade it in. You'd get more money for it selling it outright.
Here's a couple of pictures of my matched set in stainless steel .357 & .44 mag. Yours should be the same as the one in the first picture only yours would be blued with the longer barrel. You can use the stainless barrels on the blued frames and vice versa.

Was it made in Monson, Gardner or Palmer, MA? The most consistently high quality DWs were made out of Monson, MA. Although I like them, I think $500.00 is a touch high. Even in CA, where they are difficult to find, they usually don't move at that price. Just a guess but I'd say lower $400.00s.0 -

You can get the barrel tools, barrels, shrouds and extra factory grips from CZ-USA.com if you can't find what you are looking for on the auction side.
I have 2 DW model 15-2's now and love 'em. It better be a pristine pistol to bring $500 though, if it only has one barrel. You'll spend more if you get the entire kit of barrels, shrouds and grips.0
