ruger super blackhawk sights
I have a ruger super blackhawk. When I shoot I have the sights bottom out and it still shoots high at 40 yards. Are there any sights out there to replace the factory ones? I have found rear sights but no front blades. I have used 240 and 300 grain bullets and cant get either one to work. Any suggestions?

Shoot them faster. 0 -
My Old Model Ruger Super Blackhawk with 7-1/2" barrel, which I have owned since 1968, always shoots higher with either heavier than standard bullets, or slower velocity loads, or some combination of these, than it does with lighter bullets, higher velocity loads, or combination of those. I suppose the barrel has begun to raise in recoil as the bullet is clearing the muzzle; the slower the bullet, or the heavier recoil impulse of a heavy bullet, the higher the muzzle higher before the bullet exits. Very light loads (.44 Spl. equivalent) with small recoil impulse shoot to the sights, as do 240 grain bullets at magnum velocities. 0 -
If I'm not mistaken Ruger makes rear sight blades in 2 heights; if you have the higher one, a lower might do it for you. If not, you could try deepening the notch and "taking a little off the top of the blade. 0 -
If you want to pimp your gat, Millett makes a nice, all-steel peep sight for Ruger Single Actions that retail for around $85.00
It's on my birthday wish list.0
