Scope choice

I have narrowed my scope choice for my Remington .308 down to 2 scopes in my price range. The scope will be used for tactical urban/light rural applications. I am looking at a Weaver Tactical 3-15x or a Burris XTR 3-12x. Has anyone had any bad experiences with either and recommend one over the other? Thanks.

Have you looked throught each? I'm assuming each has an adjustable objective, right? What's the front bell diameter on each - 40, 44? If the front bell of one is much greater than the other you'll have to mount the scope higher, may make for a less than best cheek weld.

I have a few Burris scopes and Weavers, never had any problems with either but in general the Burris appeared clearer, sharper and brighter.

From your choices, I too would recommend the Burris. I am very pleased with my Burris 4.5-14x42 FFII (Made in the US, I have no experience on the outsourced scopes) set up on my Ruger M77 MKII in .338 WM.

    Good luck.

I have a Burris Signature Select 4-16X44 on an AR and have been very satisfied with it.
