Barrel
i have a rifle barrel marked marlin fire arms co pat aug.1 1893 want some info on it..it is marked 25-20.is this the cal or is this the top barrel for a 25 cal-20ga rifle/shotgun combo....thanks

I'm looking for a barrel for my Rem 760 in 308.Have tried several dealers from the Remington website,still no luck.Can anyone help?

What kind of barrel on what gun? When you say re-sleeved that assumes that it has been done once already so might be time for a new one. Threaded on which end for what?
There is a great lack of information here. Depending on the answers it maybe WAY cheeper to just buy a new barrel set up the way you want.0 -
Sorry for the lack of info. The barrel is on my WARS10 ak47 and the barrel was turned down where its supposed to be threaded for a flash hider or whatever. I ended up trying to thread myself not knowing it was turned down and the threads are not deep enough to put a muzzle brake on. I either need it sleeved and threaded or the barrel replaced and I'm wondering what's cheaper. I also notice it's almost impossible to find a barrel. I'm wondering what the cost would be for having it fixed so I can put a muzzle brake on. 0 -

Your best bet is to offload that WASR10, and get one like you want. If it is not legal in your state to have a threaded barrel, then you have a problem there.

About the only way is to change the barrel, and the only way you will most likely find one is in a build kit. The build kit will have the barrel in the trunnion, with part of the reciever that has been cut off, and the rivets will still be intact. You will need to grind the rivet heads on yours off, and the same on the kit, and install new rivets...quite tedious. Also, something to keep in mind, that most of the kits have been baught up, since importation has stopped.

Well if I can find one, it won't be to much work to fix then I originally thought. I find putting the new rivets in to be more challenging then taking the old ones out. I guess I'll have to keep looking for a barrel then. Maybe I'll get lucky and find one. I notice that there are some us made barrels that are the barrel only. Will any ak barrel fit? Yoou will still have to remove the rivets to get to the trunion. The barrels are pressed and pinned in. Then you will have to heat the trunnion to remove the barrel, and mic the bore of the trunnion, and turn the od of the barrel to 0.001-0.0015" larger than the bore of the trunnion. Then comes pressing the barrel in, and re-pinning it, in the trunnion. You are going to have to do rivets, one way or the other.

Well another way to get what you want is to drill out the brake to the od of the barrel and silver solder or braze it on. As long as it doesn't hamper cleaning the barrel then it shouldn't really matter. 0 -
