1903 a3 optics
ok. i want to upgrade the scope on my 1903. right now it is set up with standard 1 in rings. the scope i want has a 30mm tube. the scope base is set on the left side of the reciever and the rings curve over to hold the scope over the bore of the rifle. i did a quick search but couldnt find similar rings in 30mm. any idea what i might find a set? the pic is a little screwed up but hopefully shows what im looking for.

Call up Brownells customer service folks. If anybody would have the rings it would be them. You will have to identify the maker/model #? of the old rings though. 0 -
That's a Williams side mount with HCO (for High Central Overbore) rings. 0 -

yes its a williams mount. the rings dont have a brand on them. 0 -
No one else's rings will fit that base, and Williams quit making scope mounts before 30mm tube scopes came in. 0 -
It seems to me that if you have your bolt handle properly reshaped to clear a large eyepiece, you could install a proper over-center scope mount taking 30MM rings. 0
