Okay received my m16a1 parts kit, and have my colt lower. Was wodering if I could use the m16 bolt and buffer on my retro build. It seems like I heard something about not being able to use these parts somewhere, and don't need the ATF knocking on my door. Is there any parts I can't use on it, or any parts I have to add to make it legal? Thanks.

  These are the fire control components that the BATFE has ruled should not be used in a semi automatic AR rifle:

  Be careful, just having the parts and the receiver in the same location is not good as it can be looked on as intent to use them.

  There is no problem possessing any factory M16 FCG parts, whether or not you also possess an AR-15 type rifle. Where the problems may arise is when you install the parts on a rifle.
