proper stock removal procedure
I read somewhere that there is a proper way to take the screws out of a stock butt pad, was vasalene on the screw driver or something else, I can't remember. Possible tape around the shaft? Thanx

A little petroleum jelly on the screw driver shaft will keep the rubber from damage. Remember a little goes a long way!! 0 -
Yes, application of some type of lubricant on the shaft of the driver will help keep the access hole from "enlarging." Also, when backing out the screws do so a little at a time alternating between screws until they clear the stock. Reinstallation is same procedure in reverse.[:D] 0 -
thanx guy's I never would have thought it was important, but it seems these little trcks save a lot of visable defects, and I tend to butcher things a bit. So I'm trying to pay attention to details now. This will help. And also do you need thread lock on the stock bolt threads? 0
