My WAG it could be one of two things. Either the magazine or the extractor.

Check the magazine to see if the lips have been deformed or bent in some manner.

The extractor should be clean move freely and permit the rim of the cartridge to slide up under it as the slide goes forward into battery.

Are you sliding the slide back into position, or just pulling it back and letting go of it? I've seen some not properly go into battery if you ease it down. Does it do this when the slide is closed when you put the mag in AND when the slide is open when you put the mag in?

If you are just letting it go, I too would suspect the magazine would be the most likely culprit. I would bet the lips are flared out.

pull back the slide and let go. the sig, like other sub compacts is ammo sensitive, so try a different ammo, or take a dremmel to the feed ramp, which is what i did. now it eats anything i feed it.
