Ithaca Doubles
I've got two Ithaca Doubles, both 12 ga. and in good condition. one the wood is perfect high gloss, 28" bbl Mod/full, a little pitting inside barrel very tight.
Second-original dull finish clean bbl, mod/full 28" bbl, a little loose, cracked butt plate but all original. Anyone have ideas on cost/value?
thx

Here are some more details for assitance, first one mentioned is a Minier model, 1907 dated (serial 150xxx) and says S12 on reciever as well. No other markings, nothing too fancy but reciever is worn and much of engraving is gone.
Second is a 1927 NID (serial 441xxx) & has F12 marked on reciever.
Again both are in great condition for their age, just looking to see rough values (or not).
thx0 -
The Minier is maybe a $250 gun. The "S" indicates fluid steel barrels versus damascus. Your description of the condition indicates a well worn gun, and becuase it has short 2-5/8" chambers, it is not really a good candidate for a shooter.
The Flues is a Field grade gun, and again based on your description of the condition, it too is a well used gun with some issues. My guess is that it is might be worth somewhere in the $200 - $300 range.0 -
I hate to say it, but this time I have to agree with Bert. Values will vary somewhat with region and small differences in condition will add or detract from the figures given. Sadly, even though fine firearms, these old Ithaca shotguns bring little more than Belgian clunkers. 0 -
thanks, that is what I thought. I'll list them and see if there isn't someone out there that is looking for them. 0 -
