1911 A-1 Barrel Question

Hello all, Has anyone ever seen a HS marked barrel with four groove
right hand twist? This appears to be G.I. The lands are very wide and
not as high as other barrels. Any info would be appreciated, Thanks.

    Don't know much about them, but the answer is yes. They were used on the Remington-Rand 1911A1 during WW2 production.
    If perryshooter comes along soon he'll tell you all you want to know about them.

    There were some different makers as Colt couldn't keep up with the demand. I have one with S&W stamped on the lug.

    Hello During WW II and up to the time the 1911A1 was phased out There were many companies that made barrels for the original barrel in a pistol made by other companies as well as replacement barrels when the gun was rebuilt. If your H.S. marked barrel is Blued then it was made earlier then the ones that have Parkerized outside finish. MINT condition blued ones maybe as much as $100.00 Parkerized ones $75.00 There were at least 8 makers of barrels
