colt 1862 52 caliber muzzleloader
This is a Civil War family heirloom that I've come to possess. The ramrod is broken and only @ 28" long. I'd like to find a replacement or know the appropriate method of replacing so I don't devalue the gun's authenticity.
Any comments out there????

Try Dixie Gun Works, at one time they carried a lot of authentic and replica replace parts for various Civil War and commercial muzzle loaders. 0 -
Your Colt musket is .58 caliber, not .52
You just need a standard "tulip head" ramrod which is fairly easy to find. Like rufe-snow said, Dixie carries them www.dixiegun.com0
