bert h 1894 question
i have a 1894 serial# 93585.it is 25-35 cal.20"octagon barrel.can you tell me what year it was made? is their any way to know if it is an original short rifle?front sight semms to be in the right place,as does magazine ring.muzzle cut is square and looks factory.forearm is 9 3|8 exposed wood.

Hello Dane,
It was manufactured mid-year 1900, and it will most likely letter as being received in the warehouse in October - December of 1900.
You can verify what the original configuration was by contacting the Cody Firearms Musuem and purchasing a membership or a factory letter, and I highly suggest the membership if you collect Winchesters.
You can also post some clear close-up pictures of the gun, and if any funny business has occurred, I can most likely spot it.0 -
