303 brit question
i have a No4mk1 with no manufacture stamp on the side of the receiver it has 1943 date of manufacture and a W47 stamped on top of the date? any ideas what manufacture this is?

the serial number begins with AC 0 -
How about under the bolt handle? 0 -
under the bolt handle and on the striker it marked f53 0 -
oone thing i have not found any where on the gun is a import stamp or any marks at all of an importer? 0 -
redhead71....your serial # preceded by AC and the manufacture date of 1943, indicates that your rifle was made at the BSA factory at Shirley, outside Birmingham, one of over 660,000+ rifles produced by that factory during the war. The Brits started double coding No4Mk1's as a prefix to the serial # to avoid duplications. In the end they produced over 4M of this rifle! Hope this helps! 0
