What are the current fees associated with getting an FFL-01? Just toying with the idea. Thanks

    guy I work with has his ffl and was willing to receive a shotgun I am thinking of buying. He says $10 and tax, I know the $10 is a good deal but since when do they have to collect sales tax. the gun is comming from iowa to wva, is he correct?

    Some dealers will accept a firearm from a private individual with a copy of a drivers license. FFL to FFL usually requires a copy of the licence be included with the firearm.

    let me clarify,i am shipping to a ffl.do i need a signed copy of his license or just the license number?thanks

    I personally won't ship any firearm to a FFL without a ink signed copy of his license in my possession.

    These guys who try to shuck and jive you that all you need is the number off their license are full of s**t. No way are they going to get any of my goodies, with out me having a copy of their actual license, signed in ink.

    A copy of your drivers license or state ID card will usually do the trick.

    I am afraid that rufe-snow has intermingled his personal opinion with the legal requirement. While he is entitled to enforce his own(more rigorous) standards, there is no legal requirement that a nonlicensee have a signed photocopy of the recipient's FFL in hand. As long as you know that the recipient is a licensee (which you verify via the FFL EZ-Check using the license number), you can ship a firearm. It would be prudent to print out the licensee's information from EZ-Check & keep that for your records.

    Agree w/ Nmeyers- would only add that an 03 (C&R) FFL cannot be verified by EZCheck- you need to call the ATF.

    When I ship firearms to a buyer either through FedEx, or through a FFL dealer, they want to see a copy of the license of the FFL dealer the firearm is being shipped to. If I was just to give them the license number, they would tell me to take a hike and wouldn't ship it.

    nmyers,i am a fairly new ffl myself,oftentimes when selling on gunbroker,the license sent to ship to is signed illegibly,no printed name or date.i always use e-z check and photocopy results.i figured someone here would know if this was adequate.

    "When I ship firearms to a buyer either through FedEx, or through a FFL dealer, they want to see a copy of the license of the FFL dealer the firearm is being shipped to"........neither ups or the post office has ever asked this of me, you need to find a new shipper. or educate the one you use now.
