Will any .22 conv. unit work in auto mode ??

  You would need an conversion unit for an M-16 to fire in auto.
  The units sold for AR's won't do it.

  No, you will need one with a sear trip for it. Most companies have a version for FA guns.
  
  As for the posted link it is NOT the only one. Second I would do a simple search on that maker to decide if you want to buy from him.
