RANGER - .22 LONG RIFLE ???????

I just found a rifle that I can't identify who made it. I was told the Ranger Arms Co but I don't think so. I'll describe what I have: 25" heavy barrel with the markings "RANGER -.22 LONG RIFLE" there is a small 7 in a circle just below the name. It has a modified military stock with sling swivels attached to the handguard and by the butt. It has a magazine that looks like maybe 5 rds of .22LF. It has a double scope mount one before the bolt opening and one about and inched before the name. No model number. On the rear of the reciever over the safety there is a target type rear sight. Can anyone help me to id this weapon. Thanks

    Most likely a Savage. A picture would confirm.

    I have a .22rf Marlin Mdl. 50 which is stamped RANGER Mdl 34 and was made for Sears. However, my rifle is semi-auto, fires on the open bolt, uses a box magazine. Any resemblance to yours?

    It is a bolt operated rifle, has no serial number on it at all and also no model number anywhere that I can see.

    Sears sold several models under the Ranger name made for them by Fulton, Stevens, H&R, Winchester and marlin.
