Need help finding values for two rifles

I have two rifles not currently in my posesion that i would like to find the value for. I dont know too much about them other then that they have never been shot or at the very least were kept in good condition. The first is a Sweedish Mauser 96 with the serial# 333735. The Second is a SMLE 1940 Lithgow with the serial# 46567 and the markings from the Australian military from WWII. If any of this info seems to be wrong or out of place I can contact the holder to double check it.

    Hard to give a value without seeing some good, close up pics, including all markings.

    That Swede Mauser is a beautiful rifle, I have 4 of them.
    That one should be worth $300-$400.

    Note: The one that might go for $150 has been drilled and tapped for a scope. This ruins the collector's value, and it becomes just another deer rifle.

    TECP....As with anything else, condition is everything and we can't tell condition, as Allen Griggs as said, without photos. But we could also use some other information..for example, what is the date of your Swede? All are marked, but some dates are worth more than others. Do all the numbers match? Do you know how to read the stock disc? Important, as it tells condition of barrel and bore. How many times has it been through the re-arsenal process (marks on the grip part of the stock). On your Mk III, you mention the "marking from the Australian military.." but describe them if you can't do photos as some early Lithgows (and your serial # indicates that the rifle was early in the run which ultimately totaled over 400,000 rifles) have special factory markings. Both rifles are important battle rifles and very interesting to both shooters and collectors. Give us some more info so we can be of more help. But perhaps these questions are moot as the rifles are not in your possession and you can't get the info. I can tell you that the Swede is worth more than the Lithgow. I am a Swede collector and I have a lot of Swede 96's and would not let one of mine go for less than $600+. The supply of good Swedes is starting to dry up. And are they great shooters! Have quite a few Enfields also, including several Aussies and would not entertain a discussion of selling any one of them for less than $500. So, sight unseen, that is my 2c. Hope it helps.     You'd obviously say 'I have no idea without seeing it or a detailed description of condition,' even if you know the markets on such things.

    As said above, we need pictures or failing that a very detailed description of what numbers match, bore condition, wood condition, finish remaining, etc. etc.

    That said, somewhere between $75 and $600 for either of them. For average shape something like $200 on the Lithgow and $300 on the Swede might be a good guess. Can't say more without more info.

    Sorry, but all i have is a short fact sheet with the seriel numbers, make and model. i should get some pictures from the holder soon, but its going to be a some time before i actualy get my hands on these rifles. And unless they have been damaged or used since the last time i saw them they are in very good condition still in the packing grease.

    Thanks for the help, just the rough estimate is usefull. im not really intrested in selling them, but i still need to know how much they are worth.
