German Scope- Stoeger
I have a solid, old school scope which I assume is German. The only marking on the scope is Stoeger (word is outlined in a box) and 2.5X-8X32 (funny how the 2.5 also has it's own "X" and how the upper limit is 8X)
I say old school because the adjustments move the crosshairs individually and the crosshairs are thin at 2.5X and thicken up when the power increases - it won't be my first choice as a long-range scope. I think it is probably no newer than the 70's
Optics are clear and it should be a good scope for a spare. I think that the quality is close to the old Weavers.
Anyone have more information I should know about this scope or manufacturer?

It is probably a Kahles (Helia), imported by Stoeger about then from Germany and is a very good scope for its day. 0 -
the reticle is a FFP (first focal plane). It gets larger with power increase and smaller with a decrease. This is so that it subtends the same distance no matter what the power settign is. 0
