whats wrong with my 870 wingmaster

I have a new 870 wingmaster thats having a problem.It wont let me eject the spent shells after its fired.It seems the pump action is locked up and wont come back.It takes several times of trying to pull the forearm back before it will release the and come back.It has less than 2 boxes of shells thru it.I am using factory winchester shells .I tried a different brand and that was no help.It works perfectly if you are just pumping it without a fired shell but locks up after you fire. Please help.

    My 870 trap gun will do the same with the cheap shells with the steel base .
    I have to use a 10 ga. bore brush and keep the chamber as clean as possible .

    If you are having trouble with a NEW Remington Wingmaster you need to either returm it to your dealer for warranty repairs, or contact the factory for a warranty claim. If it needs repairs it should be covered under warranty somehow - check it out....

    Possibly just a slightly tweaked action bar.

    If so this is no big deal to fix, but if the gun's new I agree with having Remington take care of it.

    It is a common problem on the new 870's. My friends is doing the same and I looked it up. Seems the chambers need polished.
    I believe the response by Remington was to take it to a local smith and Remington would pay for it. But I can't confirm this.
    Many people have just polished the chambers and they work.

    IIRC the 870 forend has to move slightly during recoil. Try this: with the gun unloaded(!!!!!, ACTION and MAGAZINE!!) close the action. Pull the trigger and put some forward pressure on the forend.Relax that pressure and retract the forend. It should open pretty easily. If it doesn't, disassemble the gun and clean the trigger group thoroughly and be sure all of the bits and pieces move freely. Also be sure the shell latches have no crud present which would impede their movement. That's pretty much it. Re-assemble and give it a try.

    If you are uncomfortable doing it yourself, take it to a good gunsmith and have him check it out. It's not unusual for a new gun to be a little stiff.

    Once you get it going it'll just get slicker. I see in some of the Remington News pamphlets that they are celebrating their 10 millionth 870 so by now it oughta be OK.
