Hastings Metro Ext Inv Barrel?

Local dealer has something I have never seen. It is a very long shotgun barrel extension with holes in it, for a shot gun. It is made by Hastings and is called a Metro EXT INV on the box. The clerk could not tell me anything about it and there was no information in the box. He thought it was a shotgun silencer or something like that. He did not know if you could use slugs in it or what kind of shot. Does anyone know anything about these barrel extensions from Hastings? Thanks for any information you can provide!

  They were to be used with the "Metro" shotshells. Think of it as a shotgun version of a CB cap.
