Winchester 231

Anyone got any leads on some Winchester 231? Cant find this powder if my life depended on it.

If you see Hodgdon HP-38, buy it. They are the same powder under different labels.

It is my favorite too, and my local shop says it isn't available from the distributor right now. My guess is that since they started working overtime making ammo, they use all the primers and powder they make, instead of selling the primers and powder separately. I think it will become available again as soon as they catch up on the ammo orders.

I also use it in my 45 1911. I think ill give HP-38 a try, it seems to be available form several vendors. Thanks for the info

+1 on the HP-38. Some guys will argue about wether it is the same as 231. It is, and Hodgdon will confirm this if you e-mail them. HP-38 seems to be more redily available then the 231.
