38 rimless/38 super
I have a 1902 colt long slide in 38 rimless. Is 38 super ammo the same as 38 rimless??

NO. At least not unless you want to have some ER doc extract a broken slide from your forehead.
I don't know what a ".38 rimless" is, but there is a .38 ACP, the case of which is dimensinonally identical to the .38 Super. The .38 Super is loaded a lot hotter, and cannot be used in the old guns.0 -
.38 rimless is .38 automatic-dimensionally the same as Super .38, but loaded much lighter.
Never shoot Super in your gun! I would not shoot the old Colt at all.0 -
The 38 rimless is the 38ACP or 38 Automatic. It is semi-rimmed (not rimless) like the 38 Super Automatic but is a much lighter load.
Both share the same dimensions.
Ammo for the 38 Automatic is harder to find but is the only safe ammunition for your pistol.0
