Question about soliciting members

Hi I am a new member and the information on this site has been very helpfull. But, I have received an email, a few hours ago, from another member trying to sell me stuff. How is this handled? I don't want to embarrass the guy, but I think it is out of line.

  Are you sure that the email was from an actual member? This website is the target of many scam artists.
