Timney Trigger for Rem 770?
I just recently purchased a remington 770. ive purchased a new optic since then as well getting the stock milled out to take my harris bi-pod. I know the last two weak points of the rifle are the trigger and the bolt action. ive already received instructions on how to wet sand the bolt and smooth the action out. last on the list however is a trigger, ive heard timney makes outstanding triggers however they only sell a model 700 trigger does anyone know if that trigger will fit into a 770?

I don't know, but my recent experience with Timney triggers would have me looking at Jewel. The last Timney I gut was pretty rough. the trigger itself being poorly molded. 0 -

not to offend, but wouldn't it have been easier and more cost effective to find a used 700 to start with? IIRC the 770 hasn't had the greatest reviews 0 -
well it could be more effective, however i got the gun for a good price as well as the optic, the bi-pods for free and the bolt i can smooth for $30 worth the parts. with that being said this rifle is simply a mule, Ive fired nothing but Army rifles (use and abused)so in turn i wish to start out slow with a weapon that I can see the imperfections on and begin to view my own preferences and what im looking for with personal rifles. 0 -
Putting a aftermarket trigger on a 770 is like putting Flow-masters on a Volkswagen beetle .... Thank you for your service though ... 0 -
Good for you on your personal underdog project. You might be better off having a good gunsmith do a good trigger job on what you have already. Might even cost a little less. I too like taking an underdog and making a tack driver out of it. You can build up some awsome performing guns with the proper efforts. 0
