Getting a new set of barrels for it might be practical, if somewhat expensive. Boring out a .58 caliber to the .72 sounds suicidal to me due to the extreme thinning out of the metal. You are talking about a lot of back pressure with a bore that size, and I seriously doubt that any knowledgable gun smith would do that boring - out job due to the inherent liability they would face if, or more probably when, it exploded on you.
Dixie Gun Works sells a lot of barrels, or you might be lucky enough to see a set of CVA or Pedersoli shotgun barrels on the sale sites that you could cut down and re-fit to your Howdah stock. Good luck - and forget boring out the .58's !!!!!

My thoughts as well, just hope that I will be able to find suitable barrels and replacement costs wont be too bad, another idea could be to just have a .72 double rifle converted to a Howdah pistol.
