Dueling pistols
I saw a set of dueling pistols in wood case at an local gun show this weekend. I just couldn't tell if they were authentic or not, they had no markings of any kind on them, not even on the wood box. Which made me really weary so I didn't purchase them.
They look exactly the same as the set on this page.

The engraving on them was not laserd in or stamped but hammered in which would be right for the time period, they had about 10-12 sets of rifling in the barrel. I don't know if that was common or not.
If anyone could tell me more about these it would be appreciated.

They were probably real if enough like those in reference, typical over Europe mid 1800s. Rifling you describe of many sharp lands is common to the type. Lack of maker's name is not uncommon. I have owned a couple cased pairs of duelers unmarked.
