Seems the thread was locked so I'll ask again.
I know it's not worth that much and don't plan on firing it. Thought it would look ok hanging on the wall with the rest of the c&r military rifles. I did'nt know that if I welded the receiver back I needed to discard the bolt or weld the bolt in place or what. Just want it to be legal and look authentic.

The first thread may have been locked because it reached 10 posts. (See the Posting Guidelines).
Or, it may also have been locked because you proposed doing something that would violate federal law: re-welding the receiver. That would be a felony, punishable by 5 years in federal jail. Forget taking out the bolt or plugging the barrel; YOU CAN'T RE-WELD THE RECEIVER.
I know you want it to be legal; bottom line is, this project is not feasible.

I thought it was illigal to reweld but I have seen a company that sells reweld jigs. I will probably epoxy the torched sections and paint it. Thanks for the info. 0 -

yes, reweld jigs to be used by people licensed to reweld... not individuals... carve a center section out of wood and paint it all...0
