S&W Hand Ejector Cylinder Removal

Need to remove a cylinder from yoke to shim a Hand Ejector.
Looks like a spanner nut on cylinder rear. Is it RH or LH thread?
Also, is ejector rod LH or RH thread?

    To remove the cylinder a yoke from the frame, remove the screw on the right side of the frame just below the cylinder. The threads on the extractor rod are backward from normal, turn to the left (clockwise) to loosen.

    you need a special tool to remove the ejector rod unless you want to bend and gall it.

    Your hand ejector probably has RH threads on the rod. They went to LH threads in 1960. Rap it with a piece of leather and use pliers on it, if you don't have the tool to hold it. If it is very tight, put a couple of pieces of brass in the holes and use a screw driver between them.

    S&W Hand Ejector models have a different arrangement from later frames.
    The yoke doesn't drop off.
