Interchangeable: optics, barrels, (bolt-action) II
Yesterday I threw two questions into the forum that have bothered me for years. ( Switch-off/take-down barrels and optics for bolt action format. ) I am sure that those problems/concerns/questions have been bothersome for other folks too.
I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge, and your time, to discuss these questions and come-up with possible solutions. I now see a few unanticipated angles or areas of conern. However, you have provided better possible solutions than I'd managed!

I think that everyone understands why I broke it into two primary questions! Now all I have to do, is to mull this over for a bit, and figure out when and where to go with it. Thanks ...

Alan: the original string (pertaining to optics) was locked before I could make an amendment to my post. So I will do so, here and now.
In the link below, notice the 2nd photo. That's the mount system I refered to. A dedicated base will have been fixed to all your rifles, and you would be able to interchange the scope assembly at will. They (G&H) will insure proper base fit and alignment, so that you will only have to accomplish minor adjustments from rifle to rifle. The company, by performing the installation, will strive for a left-right bias of zero. You will only have to adjust for elevation, taking into consideration the different cartridges employed. Best, Joe

Hello givette ... Joe, I'd wished the string would last a bit longer as well, and not lock up so quickly. However, I figured that it'd be OK to tie them onto this one, to extend their lives a bit longer. Rcvd. a lot of good thought and suggestions.
Been keeping an eye on the feedback and found your note, thanks. When Herschel first suggested Kuharsky and Bausch & Lomb scope mounts I linked into the pertinent sites and then surfed for anything else that I could find re. those systems.
When you recommended Griffin & Howe I linked to them .... at the site that you provided just now! Quickmajik suggested cdn, so I've been there also.
Asking the questions is the easiest part of all. After getting all of the info from everyone that I did ... Well, I'd best follow-through on my end with my "homework" and a bit more research.
Thanks again everyone!
