I'm wanting the best scope for no more than $750.00(unless there is a real standout that is worth an extra $50.00-$100.00).

I have a Leupold picked out. It is the VX III 4.5-14x50mm Long Range Side Focus with a 30mm Tube. I was also wondering if the illuminated model is worth the extra money.

I was also looking into Sightron but I can't seem to find a lot of information about them. Can anyone help me out here? Are they as good as Leupold?

Are there any other brands I should look at?

I'm using this for big game and varmint hunting, maybe some target shooting (nothing serious). The gun I am using is a Remington Model 700 308.

Any information/suggestions would be helpful.

    I am looking for input on sightron scopes, good or bad? I'm looking at a S2 6.5-25x50 ao. This is a new brand to me. Can anybody help?

    Most people are right handed so it is on the right.

    If you are having a problem with it you could rotate it. Just adjust accordingly.

    The real good manufacturer's put the parallax focus on the left side.

    Unless you have HUGE target knobs how could they possibly block the port?
