The serial number indicates that you have a first year (1933) production Model 63 rifle. What I need ot know is the barrel length is (20-inch or 23-inch).

The scratched in drivers license number will be a serious detractor to the collector value.

Bad news... somebody refinished the stocks[:(]

The 20-inch barrel is more desirable, but due to the fact that the bluing on the receiver frame is "sparse", and the stocks have been refinished (varnished), your Model 63 has been permanently been relegated to "shooter" status. As such, it is worth about $250 - $300.

no offence bert H., but i think their are many collectors out there who would be interested in that rifle, that may not be able to afford a true unmessed with collector. to me it has a few things going for it, first year,.22 long rifle and a tang sight that would bring a good price alone. i myself have a nice collection of old win,s and marlins that are not museum pieces and i shoot them, and i could sell all of them for a nice profit if i so desired. i would write a bad check(just kidding) to buy a rifle like that for 300.00. eastbank.
