cape gun made in Ferlach Austria
I have a cape gun that was made by Peter Wernig it is I think a 16ga and 45/90 side by side it has "Peter Wernig Ferlach" on the top of the rib it has double triggers and hammer the gun is very finly engraved Ialso believe it to have been made sometime in the 1870s or there abouts. What I would like to know is more history on the man and when it was made and if possible some idea of value the gun is in real good condition any info that can be obtained would be nice thank you.

Hello Ferlach was just about the center of Drilling and Cape Gun building from the early 20th century. There were more of a cottage industry not large Factory operations . some makers more skilled then others. Not only would we love to see pictures but your Cape gun pictures with barrels dismounted would let us see all proof maker markings ETC and give you a better idea as to value. 0 -
