I JUST ORDERED A TRP 45 MY QUESTION IS THIS A GREAT SHOOTING GUN AND HOW IS THE DURABILITY OF IT. ALSO WHAT ABOUT THE TEFLON COATING DOES IT STANDUP TO KNICKS & HEAT WITHOUT FLAKING OFF LKE MOST COOKWARE ON THE MARKET. THANX FOR INFO ! [:)]

I have a TRP with the Armory Kote finish. It is the best shooting pistol I own. The finish is holding up fine for my use. However, I haven't put it on a stove or used a steel spatula on it.

I have a trp and while it is certainly a fine shooting gun, my Springfield armory XD.45 shoots more accurately for me. I would try a les baer or wilson 1911.

Why are you hollering! Turn off your caps lock on your keyboard! My local dealer has a stainless TRP in the case but he wants $1600 for it, I can not justify that kind of money on a pistol that probably doesn't shoot any better than my Kimber. Here is a guy who thinks its worth $1700!:

Your dealer has a high opinion of himself (or a low opinion of his clientele) if he thinks anyone will pay $1600 for a TRP.

I have a number of XDs in varying calibers (including .45 ACP) and although they are fine shooting guns, my TRP shoots more accurately for me. [:D]

Les Baer or Wilson makes a fine pistol but will cost significantly more than a TRP. For a fair comparison you would need to compare Springfield's Professional model againt a Les Baer or Wilson. BTW, a Les Baer TRS is near the top of my wish list.
