Yes was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about these pistols?
I have a buddy who wants to sell me one for aroung $350. Was wondering
if this was a good price which includes 1 extra mag. How good a gun are they.

Hey I just wanted to thank everyone with my question on the amt 22 auto mag. I see they locked it out so I couldn't thank you sooner. By most of the responses I think I will pass on it. Was wondering why he wanted to get rid of it in the first place. So thank you all very much for your help. 0 -

You will probably get comments from love them, to biggest POS made!
I have seen a lot of complaints, about FTF, and feeding.
On the older CA. built pistols.
I have a High Standard made Automag, mfg. in 2007
Had some early feed issues, but after a few hundred rounds, it became much more forgiving, Now feeds very reliably.
I really like mine, I just don't shoot it anymore.

Hi Chief, I have one and really enjoy it, great sights. With times as is, $350 sounds fair. Have you shot it? Does it run ok? I keep mine clean and lubed and it runs fine, also try to feed it winchester fodder being it was designed around it but also shoot whatever is available. I get a kick out of the muzzle flash and report especially in the evening or on cloudy days. When cleaning, watch you don't lose the ejector as it sets in the top of the frame and is held in place by the slide. 0 -
Shoot it before you buy it. I had one once, thought it would be a really great pistol. Trigger was heavy. Muzzle flash is significant. Traded it fast and I'd never buy another. 0 -
$350 isn't a bad price if it's functional. Reason he probably is looking to dump it, is that KelTec is going to put one on the market shortly. It a hot subject on a lot of the net gun forums, it appears it's going to be another must have from Keltec.
I never was impressed by the original AMT's, and sure as s**t won't be buying one of the Keltec's. I was at a range years ago when a guy was shooting a original AMT with the short barrel. The muzzle blast and muzzle flash was almost painful, and I wasn't even standing next to him. It was pissing off the guys who were trying to do serious target shooting big time.0 -
I just bought one at an auction 2 weeks ago. Have not shot it yet. It came with 2 mags. I gave it a good cleaning. It appears to have been used very little. After I shoot it I'll let you know how it runs. 0 -
They were designed for 40 grain 22 mag ammo...stick with that.

Be very careful if you take the grips off. Small parts held in place by grips can be easily lost. Repaired one in the last year, Brownell's has parts in the manufacturers section of the catalog. 0 -
Had one for quite awhile, played with several sets of springs and found it hard to get a good trigger pull and maintain reliability at the same time. Was never quite as accurate as my S&W 48's 0 -
$350 sounds bout right for a used one in pristine condition with an extra mag.
My 2 are 4"& 6" barrels, shoot to point of aim at 100yds, absolutely love the PMC 22WMRF ammo in either one, Winchester is 2nd choice w/dynapoints.
They are a little trouble getting apart to clean; hold back slide, grab frame with other hand, and with 3rd hand, pull out assembly pin, but other than that are a blast to shoot!
These are seriously capable of dotting an eye much further than I can see clearly, there will be some muzzle flash, but if you shoot occasionally it shouldn't be a problem.
I expect these will be more accurate than the new PMR30 from Kel Tec, simply due to the polymer frames on the KTs.0 -
good price...remember to clean, clean, clean...chamber is a liner with tiny holes that act as gas ports to retard slide movement...use cleaner & air...notice marks on fired cases...i would like to find a slick one for that price 0
