Derringer Value

I have a High Standard 22 Mag. Derringer in 98-99 percent condition. There is no wear on the bluing, no scratches and the inside of the barrel looks new. I would like to know the approx. value for insurance coverage. Thanks.

    I was just given three derringers from my father.

    A boxed Colt .22 short, 4TFD, #65XXXD.
    A boxed Rohm 38 Spezial, Made in Germany, #088XXX.
    A chromed Hi-Standard 22 Magnum, Model DM-101, #1317XXX

    I am curious for any information and values you could give me for these firearms. Let me know if you need any other information or pictures.

    The High Standard would be most valuable. It was made by the now out of business High Standard Co, during the 70's and 80's.

    The Colt would be next in value, although it's more a novelty/conversation piece then a practical firearm. It was made for Colt in the 50's/60's time frame by a subcontractor out of zinc die castings.

    The Rohm is a inexpensive mediocre quality pistol that was made during the 60's. They were banned for importation into the U.S. by law in 1968. It would be the least valuable of the three.

    I have one of the Hi Standard derringers in .22 mag

    I sold two of the High Standard Derringers last year in 98% condition for $225 each. I have seen them sell for as little as $175 to a high of $250. This is for the standard derringer without a box or papers.

    Well, the Colt is a Lord Derringer, from the late 1960's. It was made for Colt by Butler Industries, but the finish was not durable. It came in many combinations & casings, but I don't recall ever seeing one a wood box. Abused as it has been, it may bring $50. It once looked like this:

    The H-S's value is ruined by the refinish. It might bring $150.
    The Colt's finish is normal for one stored in the box. They fade like that. It might bring $125.
    The Rohm might bring $175 from a cowboy shooter.

    Go over to the auction side and look might get a better idea of the worth.

    I tried that before posting. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of comparable guns for sale.
