Can anybody Identify this gun????

My father in law also gave me this gun today. I dont have a clue as to what it is other than the caliber .22 it also looks to be hand rifled. I included a picture of the two proof marks the one to the left of the picture is a star next to a sideways x the one toward the rear is a circle that has E,L,G and another star all inside the circle. I have included alot of picts so you can see the gun. Any help is greatly appreciated the knowledge of this forum is great!!!! I have learned alot from you guys..

    I changed the format around a little bit so that the photos are not spread out across so much page space. The ELG is very typical of a Belgian black powder proof mark.

    It's a Belgian made "Flobert". These were single shot rimfire arms that were chambered for various metric cartridges. The originals date to the mid 19th Century and they were made as late German invasion of 1914. They don't have strong actions and many were just made for low pressure Black Powder loads. If you shoot it at all uses something like CB or BB caps.

    Thank you very much for the replies. Mark, how can I fix my pictures so the don't do that. Every time I have posted picts it stretches the page. Any idea what this gun is worth?? I do not plan on shooting it but the bore looks great I dont think I would have a problem. the trigger on this thing is like a hair..I thought it was made in belgium due to the way the stock was made but I was not sure.. Thank you guys very much..

    Make sure that you leave a clear and defined space between your image brackets because if you run them too close together then they stretch all the way across the page and it makes it really difficult to view the photos and also a real nightmare to read the replies.

    You can do a Search on Flobert and see several rifles and pistols up on auction and this might give you an idea of value. There is one in particular that looks quite a bit like your rifle

    Thank you for the link and the advice on posting picts. I saw that gun but it looks a little fancier than the one I have. I am going to take a guess and insure mine for $600 thanks again.

    When you do the images just stack them like you were doing paragraph breaks:

    With a few exceptions, Floberts have very little collector interest. If you want to see what yours would actually bring, you need to check the sold auctions, not what people are hoping to get for them. For $600, you're more than covered to purchase several of them.
