CZ Mod. 27

I have a CZ Mod. 27 pistol that I have inherited. Does anyone know the history and value of this type of gun. The serial number is between 102500 and 103500.

    It would be best if you could post quality photos of the CZ 27.

    There is a sticky at the top of the home page giving instructions for posting photos.

    The CZ 27 was the most common of the pistols made in one of the conquered/occupied European countries, that the Germans used during W W II. Something on the order of 400,000+ were made during the war. As a result they are fairly common and don't command a great deal of money usually. There are exceptions though, last week a gentlemen posted a photo of a late war silenced version, it would be quite valuable to a collector.

    holderrb.....as Rufe has mentioned, photos would help in determining what exactly you have. What is the serial # of the pistol? "...between 102x and 103x" is a bit troubling. Are you looking at the weapon? The serial # should not be "...between" but a particular number. The CZ27 came in several variations and the serial number will help pin down to which your variation belongs. Does it have a German proormark? Again, photos would help us run it down. Did you get a holster with it? If so, does that have a mark? Just need more information. It is not a rare breed but some are, like the seldom seen fnh code with the E/WaA76 acceptance stamp. As to the history, only about 15k or so were produced for the Czech military/police before the Germans took over. Production continued under the Germans and the pistol was issued as sidearms to lots of military and police units. The Germans generally thought a lot of the Czech weapons and adopted quite a few in the German military...the Czech 38 tank, for example, outfitted an entire German Panzer division (the famous Ghost Division of Rommel, the 7th Panzer).     I found someone local that identified the pistol for me. It was not one to the rare to come by models. Thanks for your help and for the history of the weapon.
