Weaver model 330 scope

First off I do not have the capability to post pictures. I have an old Weaver model 330 scope in very good condition with an adjustable objective lens that has Targeteer R.A. Litschert Winchester Indiana 330-440 on it and it reads it adjusts from 50 yds. to 200 yds. or over. Could anyone give me a little info on this setup and is there any collector value. I have heard that this scope was used by the military on 1903 Springfields. Any info appreciated. Terrill.

    A VERY FEW Weaver 330 scopes with the adjustment knob, not the slotted adjustment screws, were used on the 1903A4 (sniper rifle). What was used extensively was the same scope but marked M73B1. These Weaver 330 scopes are in demand by those who are trying to recreate a correct looking 1903A4 so sell very well. The Litschert attachment will hurt the value. It might come off without evidence that the scope has been modified.

    Sounds like you have aLitschert attachment on the scope.They were in 6X or 8X power, it screwed on to the objective end of the scope.The one you have was made for the Weaver scope,value around $75-100. The 330 scope was marked with a military serial number if used on the 03.

    Thanks to everyone for the info. The scope is marked 330 is all no M-8 or any other numbers to indicate military use. Still I thinks it is a nice little piece of rifle scope history. Best Regards Terrill.

    I think the critical component was click stops controlling the adjusting knobs.

    His scope has a common focus and power extender probably made in the'50s. I have seen those on many different brands of scopes.
