chronograph?
Ok need some opinions. I am going to buy a chronagraph and i have narrowed it down to the Shooting Chrony and the Prochrono digital. Anyone with experiance with these units and which is the best buy for the money ? thanks in advance

I've had both; put holes through both; and was happy with the service on both. I have the ProCrono now and am happy with it. How the accuracy of either compares with more expensive units I can't say, but both units seemed to give consistent and expected results. Metal case, folding and more compact on one, plastic construction, larger on the other. Personal taste and price for me. With either, and I wish I could recall the name of the Forum member who I learned this from, it's a good idea to replace the metal support rods for the sky shades with wooden dowels. Greatly reduces the chances that a bullet strike will damage the unit itself. 0 -

I bought a Shooting Chrony when they first came out. Still working good. Got the Master-Beta for a deal and like the remote readout a lot. 0 -

Slightly used, only one bullet hole, 92% original paint, some parts as they came from the factory.

If you don't get one with a remote readout, make a mask of 1/4" Lexan and fasten it to the face of your unit.
It will protect the readout and the guts from fragments.
High speed particles, rather than direct hits caused me to return my unit for repair.

+1 on the chrony. I like the metal parts and folding feature. The long plastic stirring sticks work well for guides - no harm if you nick one. Make sure your buddy uses a higher hold with an AR. I got my second one that way. [:0] 0
