remington pump 30 caliber
HI I have an old remington 30 caliber pump. serial # C over39280 It has RP on side of barrel, a small brass circle on reciever with rem umc on it. I can find no model#anywhere else. Blueing on tip of barrel thin, wood has a couple minor dings, and has flip up peep sites any information would be appreciated. thanks

My dad had a model 41 Remington in .25 Rem. cal. It was different from the model 141 in that it had a curved steel buttplate, like the older Savage 99 and 1892 Winchester rifles. All the 141's I have seen had a metal buttplate that was not curved. Also, the forend on the model 14 is slimmer than on the 141.
The brass circle should also have the caliber marking as well as the Rem Umc.
The RP is the date code for manufacture date. R = Nov and P = 1923.
Since the 141 did not go into production until 1936 we can say the rifle is a model 14 or 14A. The carbine version had a 18 1/2 inch bbl.0
