colt 1911A1 vs COMANDER
does an original WW2 slide 45ACP fits on a colt comander frame?
they look the same to me, small parts are interchangeable i thought
but what with the slide and barrel.
Could a just change the complete top? (slide+ barrel) and put it on the commmander lower part (frame)
thanks

The dust cover "the part of frame in front of the trigger guard"is shorter on a commander will tops fit[?] YES they will but look strange there will be a small amount of recoil spring exposed if you mount a 1911A1 slide on a commander frame no harm in function but might pinch the shooters hand if you shoot with both hands on the pistol 0 -
The surface the recoil guide rests on, as well as the slide rails, is cut back farther on a Commander frame. Not a whole lot, but it might effect functioning. 0 -

The short answer. YES. The dust cover is shorter and that is it. End of story. 0
