Salmon/Paris
I have inherited this strange, apparently old, little single shot. It looks from the bore about the size of a .410 and doesn't appear to be rifled so I guess it is a shotgun, but there is only about an inch between the breech and the hammer so no shotgun shell I know of will fit.
Only wording is Salmon and in much smaller lettering Paris.
Anyone have any knowledge of this firearm? I can take some pics if need be.

Yeah, pretty negligent on my part for providing no photos.

No way a .410 will fit..
Also you can see it has a firing pin, not a rimfire
I have registered on a, (dare I say it) French firearm site, but registration has not gone thru yet.

These were commonly called "Floberts" but this one has the Warnant action.
It may be chambered for the early 2 inch .410 shell:
