327 and 32 cal interchangable with 32-20?

Is the new 327 mag that ruger came out with interchangable with 32-20 its just a longer 32 cal thry shoot the same bullet has any of you tryed it out and will they interchange? BiggerHammer[?]

    It has the same case dimensions as the 32 H & R Mag. and 32 S & W Long, only the 327 case is longer.

    Great care should be exercised, many of the firearms chambered for the 32-20 are old 19th Century Black Powder guns. If you were able to chamber and fire a 327 in one of them, the results might be tragic.

    The .32-20 case has a larger head diameter (.353) than the .32 S&W Long (.335)

    And 32-20 rim diameter = .405 vs .32 S&W = .375

    I was thinking the other way around but in a newer not black poder gun I only want to know about the newer guns and senc a 32-20 is a fairly long car. and also the 32-20 is also a rifle car so can one use them interchangable? BiggerHammer[?]

    The .327 and/or .32 H&R might chamber in a .32-20, but the rear of chamber will be oversize, so case would swell and maybe split! And the .32-20 extractor may also slip off the smaller rim.

    And if you were thinking of using .32-20 in a .327 or .32 H&R revolver, the .32-20 will obviously not chamber in them.

    That's why the Ruger Blackhawk with the 32 H&R mag cylinder has another cylinder for the 32-20 cartridge. You can fire .32 mag and .32 S&W long and .32 S&W in a .327 but you can't fire a .327 in a .32 mag, it won't chamber.
