i have a question on factory ammo..
will this fit/work in .308 Win. bolt action rifle

  Google is your friend, use it. It is a totally different cartridge than a 308Win

  Thank you all/ afriend just bought a rem 700 an wanted to know
  i was pretty sure it wouldn't work an said i'd check just incase
  not know 100%..
  Edit:
  i read the case is shorter but didn't know it was that short plus the rim is smaller

  The .308 Marlin is a rimmed case, intended for use in lever action rifles. Think of a 30-30 or .303 brit case. http://www.chuckhawks.com/308_marlin_first_look.htm
