870 interchangable barrels

I have an older rem. 870 wingmaster and need to know if a newer special purpose barrel will work on my gun. Thanks

  I just sold a special purpose barrel new in the package that would fit 2 3/4-3 1/2 inch chambers of the 870 wingmaster,870 express, or 870 special purpose. It sounded about universal to those 3 models including the magnum chambers. I only tried it on my old 870 Express Mag and my newer 870 super express magnum and it fit both of those...I think you can get on remington's website and find the schematics of the barrel you had in mind and it should tell you what models it will fit.
