There's no need to post the same question more than once.

Could someone tell me what a python 357 mag. is worth these days. It has a 6 in. barrel spring loaded rear sights, in great condition. Colt mfg. said it was made in 1978. I have owned it for the past 16 yrs. wanting to trade for a new ar-15.

You should have NO problem trading this for "a" new AR-15. . .but as you know new AR-15s range in price from $600-$3000 depending on which exact model and what bells and whistles you want on the thing.

Personally speaking, I'd keep the Python. Its "cooler", plus is almost certain to appreciate more than the AR-15.

    I concur with beantownshootah.

Do a search on completed auctions to see what Python's in similar condition have sold for. IGNORE the sometimes outrageous minimum bids. Only what someone bids or pays for one is meaningful.
