Winchester Mod 1912 16 Ga. Shotgun

I have a Winchester Mod 1912 16 Ga. Standard Shotgun. It's well worn with about 50% blued but no rust and mechanically sound. The stock has scratches but no cracks and the black plastic butt plate has a small piece missing. It has a serial number in the 5900's. How can I tell when it was made and what is it worth?

  Hello Look at the first few post on this forum labeled STICKY read the one HOW TO POST PICTURES then post some closeup in focus pictures from about 12 inches away of all parts of your shot gun make sure to include part with serial numbers shown on barrel and receiver . Welcome to Gunbroker.

  It is an early 1913 vintage gun, and as such, it has a 2-9/16" (short) chamber.
  
  Based on your 50% estimate of the bluing, and the chipped butt plate (which is actually hard rubber), it is not going to be a high-dollar collector grade gun... maybe $300 - $400 tops.
